Google’s Russian division submitted a notice of intention to declare bankruptcy according to engadget.com. The decision to submit the notice was prompted by Russia’s seizure of Google’s bank account, which make it untenable for Google’s Russian office to function. The seizure ruptured Google’s ability to pay Russia-based employees, suppliers, vendors, and other financial obligations. Attorney Robert Schaller believes a bankruptcy filing by the Russian division will not affect Google’s American operations.
